Director of Choral Activities and Grade 5-12 Lead Teacher for the Roxbury Performing Arts Department, has led the choral department at Roxbury High School for 26 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University, a Master of Music in Music Education from Rutgers University, and a New Jersey Supervisors Certificate.
At Roxbury High School, Ms. Lynch has developed a vocal music program with seven choral classes at four curricular levels with more than 280 students participating. The program includes several extracurricular ensembles highlighting vocal jazz, madrigals, men's and women's concert repertoire.
Her choirs have consistently received superior and first-place ratings at state and national festivals. She has developed the Roxbury Choir Invitational, which has grown over the past two decades into one of the premier concert, jazz, and show choir festivals in the Northeast. Ms. Lynch also serves as the Producer/Director for the Annual Spring Musical Production at Roxbury.
Ms. Lynch is a sought-after clinician in the area of Concert Choir, Show Choir, Jazz Choir, and Men's Choir. She has conducted workshops at many professional conventions and festivals, including the American Choral Directors Conventions, the All-Eastern Music Educators Convention, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Convention, and the New Jersey Music Educators Convention. Ms. Lynch's credits as guest conductor include the NJ and Massachusetts All-State Choirs, the S.E. Massachusetts District Chorus, the ACDA Women's Honors Choir in Eastern PA, and the North Jersey Region Chorus. Ms. Lynch serves as past president on the executive board of NJ ACDA.
In 2006, Ms. Lynch was selected as a finalist for the Princeton Distinguished Secondary School Teaching Award.
RHS Associate Choir Director, is in his seventh year at Roxbury High School. For the past five years, he has conducted the Roxbury Chorale, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Concert Choir at RHS, after directing the Freshmen Women's Ensemble and the Eighth Grade Chorus his first year at Roxbury.
Previously, he has held choral directing positions at Pequannock Township High School and Hanover Park High School. Mr. Hachey holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a a Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree from Indiana Univeristy, where he also served two years as the assistant director of the world renowned Singing Hoosiers.
He has vast experience in choral and solo performance, including classical, opera, musical theater, jazz, and popstyles. In 2006, he was conductor the Sussex County Choir, and last spring he conducted the North Jersey Region Choir. He is a sought-after choral clinician in the Northeast and serves as the recording secretary on the executive board of NJ ACDA.
RHS Assistant Choir Director, is in his fifth year on Roxbury's choral staff. He is a graduate of William Paterson University where he studied Music Education with a focus in voice and piano. He's been performing both since he was under age ten and is also proficient on the guitar.
Before joining our choral team, Mr. Salyerds worked in Westfield, NJ where he was in charge of the 7th and 8th grade choirs. Mr. Salyerds currently teaches the Broadway/Theatre class and conducts the Freshmen Women's Ensemble, the Men's Choir and the Madrigals here at RHS, as well as the 8th Grade Chorus at EMS. Mr. Salyerd's serves as the men's choir chair on the executive board of NJ ACDA.
